The Montclair State University Police Department is an autonomous, fully certified and operational law enforcement agency that serves New Jersey’s second largest and fastest growing university. The Montclair State University PD is charged with the enforcement of all state and local laws, as well as university rules and regulations. The Montclair State University PD is also responsible for the implementation of programs and services designed to promote public safety, crime prevention and community awareness.

To request a copy of a police report, complete a Police Report Request Form, available in person at police headquarters, the police substation, or online. Submit the completed form via email to records@zlmmc8.com, via fax to 973-655-4049, or in person.

Vision: The Montclair State University Police Department works to be trusted and respected by the entirety of our campus community. In pursuit of our mission, we are steadfast in our commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of our campus community, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment conducive to learning, growth, and success.

Values: In everything we do, Department employees of all ranks must associate their action with values:
